If you are a big fan of games than I know you can’t settle for less. In fact, you are always hunting for the best in class laptop having the latest and the best OS for gaming in the market.

Best Operating Systems for GameBeing a gamer, you must be knowing the importance of an OS and how it can impact the performance of your overall gaming experience.

Nevertheless, in this article, I will give you a brief overview of all the latest OS in the market and which is currently considered the best in class when it comes to gaming. So, you can choose the best OS according to your gaming needs.

Let’s get started.

Best Gaming OS

Windows 10

Windows_10It’s the latest version of Windows and a killer flagship from Microsoft. That being said, the OS is highly optimized and efficient to handle all your gaming needs. In fact, Microsoft’s team is continuously working on the OS to make it the best OS of all time.

Having DirectX 12 which we know all know is a software built by Microsoft to power up games it makes Windows 10 a clear successor among all the Windows OS when it comes to processing power.

Furthermore, as Microsoft is trying to make this OS the best in the world, they are giving away free updates to everyone out there. So, you don’t need to worry for the next few years as you’ll be getting the latest updates of Windows to keep your gaming experience even better.

Windows 7

Windows 7

Windows 7 is still considered the best OS of all times developed by Microsoft. It’s just Windows 7 has started losing its spot after the launch of Windows 10.

But not to forget, it’s still one of the most optimized OS developed by Microsoft after a big failure of the Windows Vista.

In fact, many gamers are still using Windows 7 as their primary gaming machine.

Why I chose Windows 7 at the second spot?

That’s because it had a rock solid performance with the latest version of DirectX which makes it the best operating system for gaming to go for after Windows 10.

Unluckily, the support for Windows 7 will be terminated in 2020 by Microsoft because they want all their Windows user to upgrade to Windows 10.

Windows 8

windows8You must be thinking why I would choose Windows 8 on the list? I know this is the worst OS made by Microsoft and no one wants to read about it.

People didn’t like the OS for the fact that it had a tablet like User Interface but let me tell you when it comes to gaming this thing is pretty dope.

Furthermore, having a light UI compared to the other OS Windows 8 loads much faster than its predecessor which is a good thing for gamers as they will get higher performance.

But, if you are confused between Windows 10 and Windows 8. I highly recommend going with Windows 10. However, if you have good hardware than Windows 8 won’t be a bad choice either.

MacOS

MacOSMac developed by Apple is one of the worst OS when it comes to gaming. Nevertheless, they have started putting in a good processor in the OS from the last couple of years which can handle low framerate games.

As the system is made for professionals handling their work and not for games the marketplace of Mac OS is far less compared to Windows.

As you might have noticed, all the major games are first released on the Windows platform and maybe after months or years it gets released on the Mac.

The only way you can play high-end games on your Mac is by connecting an External GPU to it. Considering the price of Mac being very high, it wouldn’t be a great choice for you to invest in the GPU.

If you can’t live without games, then better go with the Windows OS.

Linux

LinuxLinux is somewhere between Windows and the Mac. Although you’ll find more than 7000+ games available in Steam for Linux. I still won’t give it the top 3 spots on my list.

Linux was again made for professional purposes. If you love fast OS than Linux can be the winner but not regarding games.

The best you can do on a Linux OS is to install a virtual Windows operating system and enjoy games on Linux.

Which version of Windows 10 is best for gaming?

If you are confused between the Pro and Enterprise version, then go with the Pro version. Although, Enterprise version gives you more control, but it’s quiet slow in updates.

Which Operating System is Best for Gaming?

In my opinion, Windows 10 is the clear winner here. With high efficiency and better performance Windows 10 leaves no marks behind.

I think it will be the best for the next may be few years before someone better than it comes in the industry.
