Everything needs cleaning and the Xbox One S is no different. If you start to notice lag while gaming that’s because Xbox One S store cache to give you faster and better performance. However, after a certain time period, the situation changes entirely and instead of faster performance you start to face game lag.
If the above situation sounds familiar, then don’t worry all you need to do is clear cache on Xbox One S. That is exactly what I’m about to show you in this blog post.
So, without wasting any time let’s get to work.
How to Clear Cache in Xbox One S
It’s a dead simple method all you need to do is follow along with me through the entire process and you’ll have a faster and better Xbox One S in the next 15 minutes.
Step 1: Take up your Xbox One S. Hold the power button and wait for it to turn off completely.
Step 2: Next up, unplug the power adapter from the Xbox One S.
Step 3: Now again hold on the Power button (multiple times) to remove remaining power (if any) and clear the cache.
Step 4: Plug the power adapter again.
Step 5: Hold on, allow some time for the power adapter to turn from white to orange light.
Step 6: Finally, turn on the Xbox One S and you have now successfully cleared cache from your Xbox device.
If you’re still facing the issue for any reason you can move on to the next method.
Alternate Method to Clear Cache from Xbox One S
Step 1: Hold on the Xbox One power button for 10 to 15 seconds you’ll listen to a noise different from the usual power up noise.
Step 2: The above process will Turn Off the Xbox. Wait for sometime, and turn it on again this will clear all the previously stored cache and you’ll have a faster running Xbox One S.
Note: If the cache is cleared successfully you’ll see a message that says “Syncing.” This simply means that the console is synchronizing with all your data again.
If both the above methods don’t work for you read the third and the final method which I have for you. Hopefully, that should get your issue resolved.
Use Xbox One Controller to Clear The Cache
Step 1: On your controller, press the X button and use the left stick to move down to Settings.
Step 2: Use the A button to select Settings.
Step 3: Repeat Step 1 to move down to restart the console and press the A button again to select it.
Step 4: Wait for some time. Soon you’ll see the green Xbox One S screen with a white logo booting up. Allow the system to restart completely and this should wipe off all the cache in Xbox One S.
Wrapping Up:
It’s important to clear cache on your Xbox One S to get the best performance. You should make a monthly or quarterly habit of doing this process. It hardly takes 10 minutes but will keep your device faster and smoother.
